 Mellow out to The Jerry Butera Blues Band. Formed in 1964, this was San Pedro's first all-blues band. Over the years, the band has played all over the South Bay and Harbor Area, including the Sheraton Los Angeles Harbor Hotel, the Tasman Sea Restaurant, the Radisson Hotel, Ante's Restaurant and Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse. They've played for several years at Catalina Island's Descanso Beach Club, and have been featured at Music by the Sea, Unity Fest, the San Pedro Street fair and Europa Fest. The band consists of Jerry Butera on drums, percussion and vocals; John Palos on piano and keys; Andy Nijara on sax; Richard Manzanares, featured guitarist and vocalist; James Murphy on harmonica; Doug Welbaum on bass and vocals; and Field Monroe, lead guitarist.
